Become Like Children

Luke 9:43-38

As adults, we often approach the world with a closed mind and closed heart. We generally think we’ve figured things out. It is hard for us to sit in simple wonder or curiosity. The older we get, the more we tend to narrow our views and our sense of what is possible. Jesus’ invitation to welcome, honor, and even be like children, then, is remarkable. But perhaps this child-like transformation of mind and heart is exactly what we, our church, and our world need to be a place that more fully loves and lives life to the full.
