Doubt and Jesus

October 29, 2023 Speaker: Doug Glynn Series: Luke- Jesus for Everyone

Topic: Luke, Faith and Doubt Verse: Luke 7:18–23

We all have doubts. Sometimes doubts are the result of a mismatch between our expectations and reality. Sometimes they result from loss or hard (even unanswerable) questions. Whatever the source, doubts can be uncomfortable, especially when the doubts are centered around God and faith.

Even John the Baptist, whom Jesus called one of the greatest men to have ever lived, had his doubts. Jesus encourages John to recall God's promises, remember the work God has done in the past, and rethink his assumptions about the nature of God's salvation. We, too, are called to be honest about our doubts, remember God's work in our lives, and stay open to God, even and especially when it challenges our expectations and assumptions.
