Big Sin-Big Grace

February 19, 2012 Speaker: Series: Jesus + Nothing = Everything

Topic: Colossians Verse: Colossians 1:21–1:22

“Big Sin--Big Grace”

Pastor Duane Cross | 02.19.2012

“This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.” Colossians 1:21-22(NLT)

“Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil-the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.” Ephesians 2:1-3(NLT)

“When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.” Romans 5:12(NLT)

“For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.” Colossians 1:19-29(NIV)

“He made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” Corinthians 5:21(NIV)

May all your expectations be frustrated.

May all your plans be thwarted.

May all your desires be withered into nothingness that you may experience the powerlessness and poverty of a child and sing and dance in the love of God the Father, the Son of the Spirit.
