SUMMER CRUISIN’
“Shipwrecked”
Steve Reed | 08.07.2011
“From now on things are looking up. I can assure you, there will not be a single drowning among us....If these sailors don’t stay with the ship, we’re all going down.” Acts 27:21-24 (paraphrased)
Question:
Can you recount times when God rescued you from shipwreck?
“Instruct them in all I have commanded you and I will be with you even unto the ends of the age.” (Matthew 28)
Question:
How confident are you that God will be with you every step of the way? Why or why not?
“Living in the moment God has given, abandoning the future, forgetting the past is a way to navigate our shipwrecks.”
Question:
Is living in the moment a strength or a weakness for me?
“Going on a little way ahead, he fell on his face praying, ‘My Father, if there is anyway, get me out of this. But please, not what I want. You, what do you want?’” (Matthew 26:39)
Question:
When we are shipwrecked and suffering, do we embrace God’s will or fight against it?
