CHARACTER REFERENCES

“Prays Believing”

Pastor Duane Cross | 04.17.2011

“Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” James 5:13-16 (NIV)

“For I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26)

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4:18,19)

1) There is more than one way to be sick, therefore there is more than one way to be healed.

2) God still heals physically.

“And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ...to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.” (Ephesians 1:9-10)

3) Let’s just do what we’re told.
