Blessed with a Burden

We all want blessings. Nice cars, nice neighbors, and nice kids are all, well, nice. But perhaps God has greater blessings in mind for us. For example, have you considered that a burden can actually be a blessing? Not a burden as in heavy things you carry around but rather a deep, God-given ache to see Kingdom restoration come to places that desperately need it.

Pastor Duane invited us to ponder three questions (What breaks your heart? What makes you angry? What do you care about that others don’t?), and how we answer them may help us to know the burden(s) God has placed in our hearts. As God’s creation, we are invited to partner with God in noticing these areas of need and acting in ways that make true Jesus’ prayer “on earth as it is in heaven.
