Love With Action // Heartbeat of HOPE // Acts 4:32-37 // Tyler Carlson // 09.13.26
This week we kicked off our series on the “Heartbeat of Hope”. Tyler shared from Acts 4 where the Early Church is described as being “one in heart and mind” and caring for the needs of all in the community, through radical giving and sharing of possessions and wealth. Tyler made note that this was all done in and through the power of God, which was at work powerfully in the community as described in verse 33.
The Church in Acts is shown to be one which sees and responds to the needs of neighbors through a powerful love, driven by a pervasive belief in the power of the Holy Spirit in the community. Through this, the church is encouraged to love one another, not just in word, but also in deed.
Tyler challenged us to spend time considering where God may be inviting us to reflect this pattern modeled by the Early Church, through a love marked by proximity to others. Whether that be through reading widely, serving at HOPE, and serving our surrounding communities, we reflect today on how HOPE can love our neighbors radically and actively this year.
