See It And Say It (Mary & Elizabeth) // Mother's Day 2026 // Luke 1:39-45 // Doug Glynn // 05.10.26

This week, we heard about two women, Mary and Elizabeth, whose stories begin the story of Jesus.
Through Mary’s experience, we saw how costly and confusing it can be when the life of God is
growing inside us. In response, we saw how Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, recognized that life
in Mary before Mary even could.
We also learned about the true meaning of blessing through the way Elizabeth loudly proclaimed
what she saw in Mary, and the joy that followed for both of them. We took time to appreciate the
people in our own lives who carry “strength, spiritual discernment, courage, and the capacity to carry
and call out the life of God.” Lastly, we wondered what it might look like to awaken among us hearts
like Elizabeth’s.
