Lost Sheep, Lost Coin, Lost Pharisees // Luke: Jesus For Everyone // Luke 15:1-8 // Doug Glynn// 09.14.25

This week we continue to look into the “Lost & Found” parables of Jesus in Luke 15 and the ways that they reveal the “too good to be true” true love of Christ. In this scripture we walk through the parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin that Jesus is using to confront the religious elite who are lost themselves. Pastor Doug focuses specifically on the woman lighting a lamp and sweeping as long as necessary until her lost coin is found. This coin didn’t get distracted or rebel, it slipped through the cracks and is relentlessly searched for and rejoiced over when it is found. This image connects us to all of the people in our world that have been overlooked and devalued, maybe an experience we ourselves have had. God is there sweeping, looking, pursuing, and we can partner with Him on this side of heaven in the holy work of sweeping, finding and rejoicing.
