Peter, originally known as Simon, was a Galilean fisherman called by Jesus to follow Him and become a “fisher of men.” Known for his boldness and impulsive nature, Peter’s journey was marked by both profound insight and painful failure—especially his denial of Jesus. But the heart of his story is transformation: Jesus met Peter in his brokenness, restored him by the fire, and commissioned him to care for His people.
This week’s message brought that journey to life through a dramatic retelling of Peter’s final night before his own crucifixion—an imagined conversation with two disciples that reflected on four defining moments: his calling, his renaming, the night of Jesus’ betrayal, and the morning of restoration by the sea. Through it all, we’re reminded that Jesus still meets us in our failures, asking, “Do you love Me?” and inviting us into lives shaped not by failure, but by forgiveness, restoration, and courageous love.
