Pastor Doug explores how we as a Hope Family aim to have a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit. Doug frames this through the story of Abraham and Sarah and the promise God made to them, but they attempted to fulfill themselves through the birth of Ishmael.

In seeking out the will of God, we can often try to create our own "Ishmaels" through doing things with our own strength and wisdom instead of that of the Holy Spirit; How do we avoid this? Through prayer, community with other believers who are also in prayer, and a foundation that knows the truth of the Lord.
