Topic: General Verse: Philippians 1:3–6

CHOOSING TO BECOME AN UNUSUAL PERSON

Pastor Scott Oas | 10.04.15

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 1:3-6

Choice #1. Am I a person who Affirms or Criticizes?

“Now I want you to know brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.” - Philipians 1:12-14.

TEST QUESTION:
Am I more FUN TO LIVE WITH this year or am I more UPTIGHT?

Choice #2. Am I a Participant or Spectator?

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.” - I Peter 4: 10-11

TEST QUESTION:
Am I using my gifts for PERSONAL COMFORT or to build the KINGDOM OF GOD?

CHOICE #3. Am I a person of Faith or Doubt?

“And with out faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seed him.” - Hebrews 11:6

“For God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love and self discipline.” - II Timothy 1:7

Why did Jesus take hold of you?

TEST QUESTION
:
Are my best days AHEAD OF ME or have I ALREADY HAD THEM?
