What’s Your ONE Step?

“Prayer”

Pastor Duane Cross | 08.25.2013

“I live in the spirit of prayer. I pray as I walk, when I lie down, and when I arise. When I am persuaded a desired thing is right; I continue to pray for it until the answer comes. I never seal a letter without putting a word of prayer under the seal.” -Stonewall Jackson

“Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.” Matt. 6:9-13 (KJV)

3 Compelling Reasons to Pray:

I) God knows you.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Cor. 12:9

II) God desires intimacy with you.

“If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” John 15:7

III) God desires a relationship with the lost.

“Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should. Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.” Colossians 4:2-6 (NLT)
