IS THE CHURCH STILL RELEVANT TODAY?

“When it Reaches the Lost”

Pastor Duane Cross |  10.09.2011

3 reasons why people don’t go to church:

            1)  Too boring

            2)  Ask for money

            3)  Not relevant to my life

“In the same way that you gave me a mission in the world, I give them a mission in the world.”   John 17:18(MSG)

“The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me - to tell people the Good News about God’s grace.”   Acts 20:24(NCV)

“Let me remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News...that saves you if you continue to believe the message...Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said.  He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.”                        I Corinthians 15:1-3(NLT)

“This was God’s plan for all history which He carried out through Jesus Christ our Lord.”        Ephesians 3:11(GW)

HOW DO WE REACH THE LOST?

 I.  MANDATE

You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”       Acts 1:8(NIV)

II.  MOTIVATION

“God does not want anyone to be lost, but he wants all people to change their hearts and lives.”    2 Peter 3:9(NCV)

III.  METHOD

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.  And be sure of this:  I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20(NLT)
