Pastor Corrie Gustafson | 07.10.2011

GREAT FAITH:

“By faith Noah, warned by God about events as yet unseen, respected the warning and built an ark to save his household; by this he condemned the world and became an heir to the righteousness that is in accordance with faith.” Hebrews 11:7(NRSV)

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1(NRSV)

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him." Hebrews 11:6(NRSV)

NOAH'S CHARACTER

(Genesis 6:8-9)

1. Righteous see also (Genesis 7:1; 2Peter 2:5)

2. Blameless (Job 1:1)

3. Walked with God (Genesis 5:22)

NOAH’S ACTIONS

1. Obedience (Genesis 6:22; 7:5,9,16)

“Noah did all that God commanded him.”

2. Worship

“So Noah went out with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives. And every animal, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out of the ark by families. Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt-offerings on the altar. And when the Lord smelt the pleasing odour, the Lord said in his heart, ‘I will never again curse the ground because of humankind, for the inclination of the human heart is evil from youth; nor will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done. Genesis 8:18-21(NRSV)
