Walk in the Park (CCCC)

2

Each year the Chandler Christian Community Center has its annual fundraiser, “A Walk in the Park”. This year it was held on April 12, 2014. I represent Hope Covenant Church as a board member. I have been a member for three years and have just committed for another three year term. Our church has been very generous in the past with a donation to the food bank and I wanted to reach out again this year. I would like to take a moment to explain why I am so dedicated to this organization.

We are able to assist families in need for food, utilities, and rent. We offer classes for child development, parenting, life saving and so many other educational opportunities. Our programs extend to providing food and shelter to the homeless three nights a week (hoping to expand), assistance with annual tax returns, we operate the Chandler & Gilbert senior centers to include the Meals on Wheels Programs and many other programs that benefit our elderly. Our annual events are Back to School Backpacks (filled with school supplies), Turkeys for our Thanksgiving food boxes and our annual Operation Santa Program.

I have personally designed their new brochure, assisted with development of their letterhead, note cards and envelope. The main project I have worked on the past two years is the development and continued design of the annual report. I am in the process of collecting information for our 2013-2014 report.

I will assume the role of Secretary for the board in July, 2014 for my next three year term and I also serve on the Public Relations Committee.

Any donation to the Chandler Food Bank is tax deductible and is qualified under the Working Poor Tax Credit (max. donation for this tax credit is $200 single/$400 married couple). It is estimated with our resources, every $20 donated can feed a family of four for one week.

If you would like to donate, please go to www.chandlerfoodbank.org
On the home page, look for the event tab across the top, click on A Walk in the Park and follow the prompts for donation. Even though it references walk registration, all donations are accepted without registration.

Please contact me if you have additional questions, I would be happy to discuss any areas in further detail.
