WHEN: Friday, April 14 - Monday, April 17. We will meet at Hope Covenant Church on Noon on Friday, April 14. From there we will pile into large vans and drive to Rocky Point. We plan on arriving back to Hope at 5:00pm on Monday, April 17.
WHAT: The chance of a lifetime—we will be spending 3-days in Puerto Peñasco (aka Rocky Point), building a home for a family that has already served 200 hours on community service projects. No building experience is required; there is something for everyone. The destination is about 4 hours away, and is safe and secure. We will be working partnering with a fantastic Christian non-profit organization, called 1Mission. To learn more about them and watch videos of the building process go to 1mission.org.
HOW MUCH: The cost for transportation (we are renting 15-passanger van + gas), medical insurance, lodging, meals, and building supplies for the house is $325 per person. A limited number of partial scholarships will be available.
ACCOMMODATIONS: We will be staying at the 1Mission Base Camp. This compound includes a bunkhouse with separate living quarters for men and women, bathrooms and showers, a dining hall, and common area. You will need to bring you own sleeping bag, pillow, and towel.
WHO CAN GO: Men or women high school age and above are invited. Absolutely no experience is necessary; there is something to do for everyone
IS IT SAFE: Yes. Although, Mexico has had a lot of bad publicity in recent years, 1Mission has never had any negative experiences.
